Saluton, estas mi Saluton, estas mi Tyson Saner welcoming you to Succotash, The Comedy Soundcast Soundcast...the soundcast that features clips from other soundcasts that have something to do with comedy. I swear to you.

That is to say that all of the soundcasts featured in nearly every episode of Succotash, The Comedy Soundcast Soundcast will be comedy-related in some way. I cannot stress that enough.  Or maybe I can and/or have. It's hard to tell without feedback.

Did I mention there are clips?

We've got clips from Ear Biscuits, Science Fiction Rating System, Am I An Asshole?, Comedy Pop-Up Podcast, The Kevin and Bean Show from KROQ, and Hello From The Magic Tavern!

We've also got a double Burst o' Durst from raging moderate Will Durst, another reading from TrumPoetry.com, and there may or may not be time for a Henderson's Pants ad...

Let's find out, shall we?

THE CLIPS

Science Fiction Rating System
Join Sam, Alex & Chris as they rank every science fiction film EVER. Three films an episode are discussed and added to the ranking, until they run out of films. (See the current list at sciencefictionratingsystem.com!) From July of this year, they are into thier second year running celebrating Bug Week, this time with the help of some GIANT ANTS.  In a wide ranging episode we dissect the film itself, and also get into projection techniques, an in depth ant quiz, the wonder of a Victorian man in Hollywood and much, much more!

Ear Biscuits
Join Rhett and Link, hosts of the popular daily YouTube show Good Mythical Morning and authors of the New York Times bestseller "Book of Mythicality" in a candid weekly conversation for your Internetainment. In a clip from the spisode entitled "When Is Fun Too Dangerous?", Rhett and Link sit down to discuss when fun stops being worth the risk, dangerous hobbies they use to partake in, and the time Rhett almost went down with the "SS Merle" on this week's Ear Biscuits.

The Kevin & Bean Show on KROQ
The soundcast of The Kevin & Bean Show is made up of bits and segments from The Kevin & Bean Show. In this episode, that includes not just guest Bert Kreischer but "What's Happening?", Afro Line, Bean Makes Us Guess, and Extreme Commuting. Are the remnants and roll-ends of terrestrial radio the stuff of soundcasts? Listen and decide for yourself.

Am I An Asshole?
Comedians @JackieViscusi & @RosieGu + a special guest dig deep w/their resident therapist to analyze their asshole tendencies. In the episode from back in the beginning of this year sub-titled "For Being A Straight White Male?" (You have to do the math yourself there, and connected the title of the show to the sub-title to get the full message, see?), Jackie, Rosie, and guest comedian Jono Zalay touch on Women's Marches. Black Lives Matter. Gay rights. Are straight white dudes just hanging out and waving their privileged dicks around or do they actually want to help? Their special guest & comedian Jono, and their therapist, Jen, try to work it all out.

Hello From The Magic Tavern
Quick background: Arnie Niekamp fell through a dimensional portal behind a Burger King into the fantastical land of Foon. He's still getting a slight WiFi signal, so he uploads a weekly podcast from the tavern the Vermilion Minotaur where he interviews wizards, monsters and adventurers. It's a major discovery! In our clip from Helo from The Magic Tavern (consistently in the Top 100 comedy soundcasts on iTunes), from way back in 2015, Arnie and his pals Chunt and Usidore meet a new guest: A common, dirty traveler named Tom. (Arnie hopes to hear what life outside of Hogface is like from someone who has traveled across Foon.)

Comedy Pop-Up Podcast
Live from the CPU Studios in beautiful Los Angeles, this is the official soundcast of Comedy Pop-Up, normally hosted by comedian Ron G. Join them as they interview some of the top comics in the business and create another outlet for some of the best in the industry. Our clip is from Epi42 from just earlier THIS month, guest-hosted by Paul Antonio and featuring guests Brent Sullivan and Vinny Fasline.

And there you have it. September is nearly over and Halloween is just around the corner. In fact if you would like a headstart on Halloween why not pick up one or more editions of "Combat Radio Halloween The Album" available from cdbaby? You can pick them up by going to store.cdbaby.com , typing "Combat Radio" into the search field and clicking on any of the album icons adorned with very distinct shades of black with yellow lettering.

If the image of the headless horseman holding aloft a flaming pumpkin to presumably hurl at some poor soul isn't enough of a tip-off that you're in the right place, the white skull peering from behind the red shield with the black cross that is Combat Radio's logo should be a dead giveaway...

If you'd like specifically to buy this year's edition...this year being 2018...you can go to https://store.cdbaby.com/cd/combatradio8. The funds generated by album sales go to benefit social services, homeless children and other causes that have been adopted by the central figure of Combat Radio and an old pal of Succotash, Ethan Dettenmaier. I would also recommend checking out a track called "The Haunted Tour" from the 3rd annual "Combat Radio Halloween The Album" because it's something yours truly put together with the assistance of my co-host from Anti Social Show, Hunter Block, and we're frankly pleased with the way it turned out.

So until next time, I bid you a fond farewell and thank you for spending some of your time with us here at Succotash, The Comedy Soundcast Soundcast. I hope it was entertaining and informative, and I hope that if you did enjoy yourself here that you might find the time to tell others about this program so that it might assist them in their own personal "I'd like to listen to a comedy soundcast but I'm not sure where to start" journey.

That, after all, is the simplest way you could grant our most humble of requests that can be summed up in the four words: "Please, Pass The Succotash".

Saluton, estas mi, Tyson Saner welcoming you to Succotash, The Comedy Soundcast Soundcast. The podcast that dares to call itself a soundcast that features clips from other soundcasts...allegedly of the comedic variety...sometimes merely comedy-adjacent.

That is to say, if you have a soundcast and it can be considered a comedy related soundcast I may have listened to it, I may have already clipped it...former-host-now-executive producer Marc Hershon may have clipped it...or I have yet to hear it.

And when I do hear it, I will probably clip it and feature it here on Succotash, The Comedy Soundcast Soundcast" because that's what this soundcast is all about.

You want clips?  We've got clips. This epi features content from: Awards Chatter, Broad Topix, Just Joshin', Entry Level with Brooks Wheelan, About Last Night and Come To Papa.

But wait - there's more! In addition to clips, we've got our Burst O' Durst segment with political wag and social gadfly Will Durst which is opening our show this time around and another reading from our still-pretty-new sponsor TrumPoetry.com...

DAS CLIPS

Awards Chatter
Moderated by The Hollywood Reporter's Scott Feinberg, Awards Chatter features in-depth interviews with the most interesting and accomplished people in show business. His guest back on May 7th of this year, which this epi dropped was Samantha Bee, the host of TBS' Full Frontal. Our clip features her talking about the chronology of former host of Comedy Central's The Daily Show Jon Stewart's departure, and the beginning of her own show.

Entry Level with Brooks Wheelan
This is a podcast about all those jobs we've had that sucked. Each episode host Brooks Whelan interviews a guest to find out what garbage they had to put up before they got to the position they're in now. John Roy, winner of Star Search in 2003, was Brooks' guest back in April of this year, talking about his run of bad managers.

About Last Night
We've clipped About Last Night on Succotash before but it's always fun to hear what hosts and comedians Brad Williams and Adam Ray are up to — as it says on the iTunes description: "From sex, to sports, to booze, when a dwarf and a Jew come together the results are unpredictable but always entertaining." Their guest in July was the great Bill Burr, who covered a gamut of topics - being a parent, bullying, high school days, and more. Our clip shaves off a slice of that action for you…

Broad Topix
Hosts Kim Congdon and Alex Scarlato use their soundcast Broad Topix as a platform to cover everything from near-death experiences to naming their vaginas. We clip from an episode released just this month, where the hosts recount their adventure-filled trip to Vegas, baby!

Savage Henry Magazine Radio Network
After a mighty long slumber, hosts Chris Durant and Daniel Amaral welcome the rebirth of the Savage Henry Magazine Radio Program, a new special producer and ringleader, Michelle Meyers, as well as a the show debut of guest Just Joshiní. Host of Just Joshiní, Joshua Barnes is joined by studio hosts, Evan Vest and Matt Redbeard. Our clip features conversation about host Josh Barnes's recently discovered appreciation for Fleetwood Mac.

Come To Papa
A positive podcast from stand-up comedian/actor/writer/bread maker/friend to all Tom Papa. This clip is about a special promotion during a live epi of the show from July featuring guests Judy Gold, Robert Kelly, Colin Quinn, Keith Robinson, Dave Hill, Bonnie McFarlane, Olivia Vessel, and Rick Crom.

And just like that...the show is near over. I close another chapter of the audiobook that is Succotash, The Comedy Soundcast Soundcast. It's time to sweep up the eyeballs...oh wait I used that one already...didn't I?  Ugh I...I can't remember...a wiki for the show would be so handy as a reference tool ...sadly the rules of Wikipedia wouldn't allow me to do it myself...as far as I know...I don't understand how Wikipedia works really...is there a Vox video?

I'll look it up after I get done here. Thank you so much for joining me whenever you are listening. If you like us here at Succotash and you'd like to help us out, it would be great if you could write a review on iTunes or anywhere they let you write reviews really...online that is...well, you know what?  I'm cool with print media...

Also there is "Succomerch" available at our Succotashery (https://www.cafepress.com/succotashshow) and I imagine that's another great way to show us love by showing off your love of us to others...sharing us with others...loving us together...It's a huge and wonderful favor you'd be doing us, being our mascot of sorts...sharing images of yourself on social media with our shirts on...being featured on our Social Media sites...that sort of modern reciprocal love that is just another fantastic way that you could ...if you were to be so inclined to make a fashion statement AND (Please) Pass the Succotash...

Saluton! It is I, your host Tyson Saner, and welcome to Succotash The Comedy Soundcast Soundcast. This one is chock full o' content as folks used to say...

The "chock full" part...not necessarily the content...

ANYWAY -- there's plenty to hear on this episode besides me editing myself: Aside from clips — and yes, don't you worry, we've got those — we also have a double Burst o' Durst from raging moderate Will Durst: "Battle of the DC Network Stars" & "All the President's Con Men"

We've got another reading from our recently acquired sponsor TrumPoetry.com AND a spot from Henderson's Pants to round things out. It will be nice to hear from Henderson's Pants...as it is nice to hear from any sponsor that will have us. I'm glad they've decided to throw their pants back into the ring as it were and enjoy some healthy competition for your attention span and/or any other time-currency that is the the life blood of any soundcast...or, as some still call them: podcasts.

The clips I've selected for you on this edition of Succotash include : You Know What Dude!, Your New Favorite Movie, The Kimchi Chronicles, Opie Radio, Legion Of Skanks Podcast, and Kill Tony is the name of the last featured soundcast that isn't a call to action.

Please don't take that literally...

CLIPS

The Kimchi Chronicles
Friend of the show Samantha Pett is based in South Korea, from where Pett happily discusses differences in society, culture and personal hygiene. This clip, taken from Epi21 - An Extraordinary Guest - features the wonderful Baz Henderson, the host and producer of the awesome Extraordinary Stories Podcast. In this clip Samantha and her guest Baz discuss the controversy surrounding the use of "swear words". Enjoy!

You Know What Dude!
Hosted by Robert Kelly, the You Know What Dude! soundcast provides you a seat at that back-of-the-room table where comedians new and old try to one up and out wit each other. Taken from the "Wooden Spoon" episode, where host Kelly welcomes Rich Vos, Paul Virzi, and Gary Gulman, this clip has Kelly revealing his love of fireworks as well as the reason for this episode's title.

Opie Radio
The iTunes description of the show: Opie has been synonymous with irreverent and hilarious radio for decades. Opie has come a long way from his shock jock days and his talent as a curator of captivating conversation is undeniable. Opie Radio is a blend of current events, comedy, and talking to real, everyday people. In this episode, Opie and Vic Henley go on a road trip...sort of. This is the first in a series of "recorded while driving in a car" episodes and, in the clip we're featuring, Opie and Vic make an unexpected navigation adjustment!

Your New Favorite Movie
Two independent filmmakers pitch their outlandish movie ideas to AAA Ryan (Average American Audience) who will decide if their films will be a success or not. "Ever since Han Solo tanked at the box office, Disney has cancelled any future spin off Star Wars movies," goes their blurb for this episode. "Your New Favorite Movie is here to change their minds! Hear our team up movie with Jar Jar and FDR, but probably not the FDR you're thinking of!" This clip features the very beginning of the pitch and answers at least one question...

Legion of Skanks
According to the iTunes logline, "Legion of Skanks has been called "the most offensive podcast on Earth" and the hosts and creators wouldn't want it any other way! Stand up comedians and real-life best friends Big Jay Oakerson, Luis J. Gomez, and Dave Smith host their weekly "podcast party" from the Creek and Cave in Long Island City where they invite their loyal fans in studio to hang out and listen in as they discuss anything and everything in a hilarious and extremely uncensored way." The episode we clipped from also features guests Eric Bergstrom and Shane Gillis, and the clip starts out as a plug section that turns into an origin story.

Kill Tony
The weekly live show Kill Tony is recorded at the world famous Comedy Store with hosts Tony Hinchcliffe and Brian Redban. We clipped Epi263, featuring guests Sara Weinshenk, Ali Macofsky and surprise guest "Uncle Ron". (If anybody remixes Uncle Ron and sends me a link or a file of it not only will I listen to it but it is very likely to be featured in a future episode of Succotash…)

EPILOG

Whew!  ThIs is a sizable epi if I do say so myself. If you make it through the whole thing I'm grateful to you. Anytime you listen, anywhere you listen, any way you listen - I am grateful to you for it. I'm going to go listen to some more soundcasts for the next episode and I have some pretty good ideas of where to start...

So, rest easy those of you who may have been concerned. BTW, speaking of getting things underway, why not go to www.succotashshow.com, click on the Amazon banner at the top of the page and shop as you normally would. Amazon kicks us a portion of that and this ship keeps afloat for a few more months... or weeks... It's an ideal way to donate because after making sure to click that banner first and seeing your selected purchases thru to the end you have the added benefit of receiving stuff for donating! ...AND it's stuff you ALREADY want because YOU JUST BOUGHT IT... Isn't that nifty?

You know what else is nifty?  You — the listener. Thank you for being nifty and thank you again for listening. And while you're out there this pre-holiday season could I possibly intrude upon your good natures ever so slightly and gently remind you to please...pass the Succotash?
